Read moreHow does Flight Insurance work?
Flight accident insurance offers travel-related benefits. Travelers who fly frequently may seek insurance to cover unpredictable losses before or during the trip.
Depending on the chosen policy, the plan can also cover travel arrangements, baggage extension coverage, medical expenses, dental, escort maximum, etc. As policies can differ, checking the brochure or plan certificate is advisable.
A few benefits are:
-
Baggage personal effects
If your baggage, personal effects, passports, travel documents or visas are lost, damaged, or stolen during your trip, the plan can pay the lesser of the cash value as determined by the insurance company or, the cost of replacement, up to the maximum limit of your chosen plan.
-
Trip delay
If your trip is delayed at least the number of consecutive hours shown in the plan from the original departure time that prevents you from reaching your destination, the Company can reimburse you for only one delay per insured, per Trip, up to the maximum limit mentioned in the policy.
-
Baggage delay
If your baggage is delayed or misdirected by the common carrier for at least the number of consecutive hours as mentioned in the plan, the insurance company will reimburse you up to the maximum limit stated during the purchase. However, necessary personal effects do not include jewelry, perfume, and alcohol.
-
Trip interruption
The plan can provide losses incurred by you for a covered trip interrupted or delayed after the time and date of departure for a maximum benefit of up to the amount mentioned in the plan for certain expenses as listed in the plan resulting in the interruption of your trip due to any unforeseen events as mentioned in the plan.
