Assurant Health Short Term Medical is a temporary medical plan ideal for; those between jobs, waiting for employer benefits, temporary and seasonal employees and new graduates.
Assurant Health Short Term Medical provides a Lifetime Policy Maximum of US$2,000,000
$500, $1,000, or $2,500 per Certificate Period. Only one deductible must be satisfied for all covered family members
  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    Expenses incurred outside the United States, its possessions, and Canada are not covered
  • In USA
    Assurant Health Short Term Medical pays 80% of your medical costs for the first $10,000 in covered charges. After that first $10,000, Assurant Health pays 100% of covered charges up to the lifetime maximum.

Short Term Medical offers you prescription drug savings and flexible coverage options to suit your situation.

Assurant Health Short Term Medical expires when the short term period selected ends. When your plan expires, you may apply for another plan.

Each person must be between the ages of 30 days and 64 years, 11 months. Dependents must be under the age of 18, or 24 if full-time students.

Coverage becomes effective at 12:01 a.m. on your approved effective date as long as your enrollment form is complete, meets the requirements for acceptance, and includes the initial premium. Your requested effective date must fall within 45 days of the date you signed the enrollment form.

Coverage will end at midnight on the expiry date of the policy.

  • Renewal: When your plan expires, you may apply for another plan.
  • Cancellation: If you are not completely satisfied with your Short Term Medical plan, you may return the policy and identification cards within 10 days of delivery for a premium refund, no questions asked. After the 10-day free look period, premiums are not refundable. The one-time application fee is not refundable at any time. If you pay by the month, simply stop paying when you secure permanent health insurance.
