Medical Evacuation Insurance
Getting critically ill overseas or losing a loved one while traveling is extremely hard. However, losing a loved one when they are visiting a foreign country is even harder. Costs of medical evacuation and repatriation are extremely high. You also need someone trustworthy to take charge of all the arrangements. Evacuation insurance or repatriation insurance can help you with both.
We, International Services, Inc. offer two different emergency medical evacuation insurance and repatriation insurance plans.
Medical Evacuation Insurance - Types
There are primarily two types of plans 1) Evacuation Insurance plans that support evacuation to closest adequate medical facility and 2) Evacuation Insurance that support evacuation to a medical facility of choice, even if it is back in the insured's home country.
Liaison Traveler insurance is a good example of the first type of evacuation insurance supporting evacuation to closest adequate medical facility. This plan is very affordable and can be purchased for an entire year and for the whole family. It offers one of the highest Accidental Death Dismemberment (ADD) of $1 Million.
Travel Guard Protect Assist is a great example of the second type of medevac insurance supporting evacuation back to the home country or a hospital of choice. To have the hospital of choice evacuation feature you would have to purchase the Medical Coverage upgrade. With this plan you can also chose to include trip cancellation benefits and coverage for pre-existing conditions.
Repatriation Insurance
Repatriation Insurance refers to plans that include costs for returning the mortal remains. While the probability of a loss of life while traveling is quite low, nevertheless an experienced travel insurance professional can recall many such incidents and the complications following the loss.
Repatriation Insurance addresses the costs for preparing and transporting the remains back to the home-country. The two plans mentioned in the earlier section of the page offer ample repatriation benefits.
