Atlas Group Travel insurance is one of the popular insurance plans available for US and non-US citizens traveling overseas. Both US citizens and foreign citizens in tour, missionary groups can obtain affordable group travel medical insurance coverage. It includes coverage for medical expenses, evacuation expenses, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, pregnancy complications and many more.

  • Atlas Group Travel Insurance offers a Policy Medical Maximum of $ 50,000 to US$1,000,000; for people less than 70 years of age the maximum limit is $1,000,000; between ages 70-79 the maximum limit is US$50,000; and for people above 80 the limit is $10,000
  • Range from $0, $250, $500, $1,000 and $2,500 per Certificate Period (i.e. 12 months typically)
  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    Plan will pay 100% of Eligible Expenses after the Deductible up to the Overall Maximum Limit.
  • In USA:Inside the US:
    Within the PPO network: After the deductible, the plan will pay 100% of Eligible Expenses up to the Overall Maximum Limit. 

    Outside the PPO network: After the deductible, the plan will pay 80% of the first $5,000 in medical expenses and then 100% of Eligible Expenses up to the Overall Maximum Limit.

  • Options at additional cost can be purchased for hazardous sports (i.e. scuba, mountaineering etc.)
  • Atlas Group Travel Insurance coverage can be purchased for 5 days or up to 12 months. For coverage beyond that, a new insurance plan can be bought.
  • The Atlas Group Travel Insurance is underwritten by Lloyds.
  • The Atlas Group Travel Insurance Claims is administered by the HCC Medical Insurance Services (formerly MultiNational Underwriters, Inc) based in Indianapolis, IN, USA

  • Eligibility

    Travelers in groups of five or more can apply for the Atlas Group Insurance. The age can range from 14 days old to 80 and above. The same deductible should be purchased for everybody on the group. The same overall policy maximum limit should be purchase for everybody under 70 years.

    Coverage becomes effective on the latest of:

    • Receipt of Application and the subsequent receipt of correct premium
    • Departure of the member from the Home Country
    • The date requested on the Application.

    Coverage will end on the earliest of:

    • the end of the stipulated period for which premium was paid by the insured person,
    • the date requested on the application, or
    • on the arrival upon return of the insured person to the Home Country

    Atlas International Travel Insurance can offer a range of benefits including:

    • Coverage for injuries and illnesses that may occur during the trip.
    • Plan covers medical evacuation to the nearest qualified medical center or hospital.
    • It covers repatriation costs
    • It can also offer insurance coverage for terrorist attacks and natural disasters
    • Coverage for dangerous or hazardous sporting activities can also be provided
    • Transportation cost for the return of unattended minor children
    • Atlas Group International insurance covers complications due to pregnancy up to the first 26 weeks of pregnancy
    • Addition of chiropractor care to physical therapy benefit – $50/day (must be ordered by physician).
    • A Vantage America drug discount card is provided for policies with U.S. as a destination.
  • Remarks

    Atlas Group insurance coverage is ideal for all groups of travelers. It includes various emergency benefits for the insured. Travel assistance also include services like referrals to embassies, consulates, attorneys, doctors etc.

    • PPO Network: Outside the US the plan does not follow a network and the traveler can go to any hospital or doctor. Within the US the plan follows the FirstHealth PPO Network
    • Eligible U.S. claims incurred inside the PPO network will be paid at 100% after the plan’s deductible.
    • Renewal: The plan cannot be renewed.
    • Cancellation: Full refund of the premium will be available if the cancellation request is received in writing before the start of the plan. The cancellation request should be directed to the Multinational Underwriters and should reach before the effective date. Partial pro-rated refunds are possible (with a cancellation fee of $25) provided there have been no claims.
