WorldMed insurance is designed for people who are living or traveling outside their home country from one month to three years, providing high limit illness and accident expense protection at a reasonable cost. WorldMed also provides you with 24-hour access to emergency assistance services through AIG Assist. WorldMed medical insurance is one of the few comprehensive plans offering $100K coverage for ages 70-79 (available through the purchase of the medical buy up option).

  • WorldMed insurance provides a Policy Maximum of up to US$500,000 or $1,000,000 for medical expenses. The maximum medical benefit limit for ages 70-79 is $50,000 and for ages 80+ is $15,000. Click here for more details.

  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    The policy pays 100% of eligible expenses
  • In USA
    The policy pays 90% of eligible expenses up to $20,000 annually, then 100% up to the policy maximum
  • In addition to Plan A & Plan B, the Lite plan is available for those seeking lower coverage. Optional buy ups are available for Hazardous Activity coverage, Increased medical maximum limit, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment.
  • World Med Insurance plan can be initially purchased for a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 364 days.
  • WorldMed insurance is underwritten by The Lloyds of London.
  • WorldMed insurance is administered by AIG Life Insurance Company.

  • Eligibilty

    Coverage is available to individuals traveling outside their home country or country of residence, and to dependent children (age 14 days through 18 years) traveling with the insured. Coverage is available from one month to 12 months per Enrollment. This plan is not renewable. Coverage in the US is not available for Green Card holders.

    Coverage will begin at 12:01 A.M on the latest of the following:

    • Your departure from your Home Country or Country of Residence; or
    • The date after the Insured Person’s completed enrollment form and correct premiums are postmarked to Travel Insurance Services; or
    • The requested defective date on the Enrollment Form.

    Coverage will end on the earliest of the following:

    • Your return to your Home Country or Country of Residence; or
    • Twelve months after the effective date of coverage; or
    • The requested termination date on the Insured Person’s Enrollment Form for which premium has been paid.

    • PPO Network: 24 hour emergency assistance services are available through AIGAssist. You can receive referrals for doctors and hospitals. WorldMed follows the Coventry PPO
    • Renewal: This plan is not renewable.
    • Cancellation: Cancellations with refunds (less a cancellation fee) are available only if a written request is made prior to the start of the plan. No refunds are available after the start of the plan.
