Visitors Protect is a comprehensive visitor insurance plan designed for individual travelers and families coming to the US, Canada, and Mexico. Travelers can get coverage outside their home country from 90 days (about 3 months) to up to 12 months. 

The plan includes temporary coverage for pre-existing conditions, making it one of the popular insurance products in the market. Visitors concerned about pre-existing illnesses can buy this plan while visiting the US, Canada, and Mexico. It also offers CareClix Consultation, which allows members to access a broad network of doctors for non-emergency medical events.

  • $50,000, $100,000, or $250,000 for travelers under 69. $50,000 for travelers aged 70 and above. 
  • $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000 per insured person per injury/illness.
  • In-network: Plan pays 75%, and the insured pays 25%. Out-of-network: Plan pays 60%, and the insured pays 40%.
  • Visitor Protect provides coverage for individuals traveling outside their home country to the US, Mexico, and Canada.  
  • The plan can be bought for at least 90 days (3 months) and a maximum of 12 months. 
  • Visitors Protect is underwritten by Sirius Point Speciality Insurance Corporation. 
  • Visitors Protect is administered by International Medical Group, Inc. 

  • Eligibility
    • Visitors Protect is for travelers traveling outside their home country to the US, Canada, and Mexico. 
    • Complete & sign an application as the insured person;  
    • pay the required premium on or before the effective date of the coverage; 
    • receive written acceptance of their application from the company 
    • be an individual at least 14 days (about 2 weeks) old 
    • on the effective date must have legally departed the country of residence and legally entered the destination country  
    • not have established a permanent residency in the destination country  
    • Coverage becomes effective on the latest of: 
    • the date IMG receives your completed Application Form and the appropriate premium; 
    • the date you depart from your home country; or 
    • the date requested on your Application Form. 

    Coverage will end on the earliest of: 

    • the end of the period for which the premium has been paid; 
    • the date requested on your Application Form; or 
    • the date you return to your home country

    PPO network: The PPO network inside the US is United Healthcare, and the IPA network is outside the US (Mexico and Canada). 

    Renewal: Coverage under Visitors Protect plan is not renewable or extendable. 

    Cancellation: The insured person will have 3 days from the Effective Date of Coverage (Review Period) to review the plan’s benefits, limitations, exclusions, and other conditions. If not satisfied with the coverage, the insured person can request a cancellation by sending a written request to the company within the Review Period. The insured person may qualify for a full refund of the premium paid. 

    The following conditions apply for a premium refund: 

    • If any claims have been filed, the premium is fully earned and non-refundable. 
    • If no claims are filed, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged. Only premium covering periods after cancellation is refundable.
