Private Sector Makes Pledge for Health Care Reform

Several groups commit to helping with health care reform initiatives. Wired PR News Private sector health care groups have made a commitment to reduce growth in health care costs. As reported by CNNMoney.com, President Barack Obama is set to announce on Monday that a number of groups have made a commitment to assist with health care reform initiatives, which may lead to $2 trillion saved in spending on health care over the course of ten years. As quoted in the AP report, Obama is expected to state Monday, in accordance with prepared comments, It is a recognition that the fictional television couple, Harry and Louise, who became the iconic faces of those who opposed health care reform in the ’90s, desperately need health care reform in 2009. And so does America. AARP Director of Public Policy John Rother is quoted in the report as stating of the efforts, Reducing the skyrocketing cost of health care is the only way to create a health care system that works for all Americans; after all, what good is access to a system that we can’t afford?
