Federal approach to the health insurance overhaul

The principal approach to the health reforms by the US government lies in the fact that the health insurance should be affordable and beneficial so as to reduce the number of uninsured and eventually cover everybody.

US Fed is toying with the idea of a country-wide insurance market-place where citizens regardless of their state of residence could choose from a wide range of health insurance plans. Some minimum set of benefits could be mandated by the federal government.

While there is much debate the details of the proposal are hard to obtain as well as hard to understand. It remains to be seen how much of the proposals will be passed into laws and requirements.

In the meantime there seems to be good competition in the the travel insurance and short term insurance segments of the industry with a new product releases and launches.
