Atlas International Insurance is a popular visitor travel medical insurance plans for US citizens traveling overseas. Atlas International Insurance is designed to take the risk out of international travel and includes coverage for Acts of Terrorism, Complications of Pregnancy and Incidental Trips home. Atlas International Insurance can be extended up to 364 days.

  • Atlas International Travel Insurance provides a Policy Maximum of US$1,000,000; for ages 70-79 the maximum is US100,000; and for age 80 years and above the maximum is US$10,000
  • Atlas Premium International Insurance provides a Policy Maximum of US$2,000,000; for ages 70-79 the maximum is US$100,000; and for age 80 years and above the maximum is US$20,000
  • $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or $2,500 per Certificate Period.
  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    For the Certificate Period, Underwriters will pay 100% of Eligible Expenses after the Deductible up to the Overall Maximum Limit.
  • Inside the US:
    Atlas International is not available for coverage in the US. If you need coverage in the US you can select the Atlas America plan available to non US Citizens travelling to countries including the US.
  • Coverage during initial purchase is available for periods of 5 days to 364 days.
  • The Atlas International Travel Insurance plan can be renewed for up to a total of 36 continuous months. If coverage is needed beyond that, a new Atlas International insurance plan can be purchased.
  • Atlas America / Atlas International Insurance is underwritten by Lloyd’s of London, member of Lloyd’s Group of companies.
  • Atlas America Insurance is administered by Tokio Marine HCCMIS.

  • Eligibility

    If you are traveling outside of your Home Country and are at least 14 days old, you are eligible for coverage. If you are under age 70, you may select your Overall Maximum Limit, ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000. If you are age 70 to 79, the Overall Maximum Limit available is $100,000. If you are age 80 or older, the Overall Maximum Limit available is $10,000.

    Coverage becomes effective on the latest of:

    • date the Application and correct premium is received
    • departure from the Home Country or
    • the date requested on the Application

    Coverage will end on the earliest of:

    • the end of the period for which premium was paid,
    • the date requested on the Application, or
    • the moment of arrival upon return to the Home Country (unless you have started a Benefit Period or are eligible for Home Country Coverage under the Atlas Extra plan).
  • Plan Benefits

    Atlas International Travel Insurance offers a broad range of benefits including:

    • Coverage for injuries and illnesses that first manifest themselves during the trip.
    • Atlas International travel insurance covers doctor office visits, prescriptions, medical tests, surgery for covered illnesses up to the policy mximum.
    • Plan covers medical evacuation to the nearest qualified medical center or hospital.
    • Atlas Travel Health insurance offers covered individuals below age 70 a coverage up to medical coverage maximum for an acute onset of a pre existing condition.
    • Atlas International insurance covers complications due to pregnancy up to week 27 of the pregnancy.

    • PPO Network: Outside the US – FirstHealth PPO
    • Renewal:The plan can be renewed online for a $5 fee per renewal. Policies of 5 or more days are eligible for renewal. Non-US citizens traveling outside USA, can renew for up to 3yrs. US citizens can renew for up to 364 days. The renewal must be done before the plan expiration date.
    • Cancellation: Full refund is available if the cancellation request is received in writing before the start of the plan. After the policy is in effect, a pro rated refund is available with a cancellation fee if no claims have been made against the policy.
