  • AmGrad Plus Insurance and AmGrad Preferred Insurance have no overall maximum dollar limit. AmGrad Basic Insurance has a $500,000 per Illness/injury maximum limit.
  • AmGrad Basic Insurance and AmGrad Plus Insurance offer a deductible of $100 per injury/sickness. AmGrad Preferred Insurance offers a deductible of $50 per injury/sickness.
  • AmGrad Basic: Plan pays 80% of the first $50,000, then plan pays 100% per year
  • AmGradPlus: Plan pays 80% of the first $31,750, then plan pays 100% per year
  • AmGradPreferred: Plan pays 90% of the first $50,000, then plan pays 100% per year
  • Coverage includes medical evacuation, repatriation and maternity.
  • This policy is a non-renewable one year term policy. No more than 12 months of coverage may be purchased per policy year.
  • AmGrad Care Insurance is underwritten by Student Resources (SPC) Ltd., A UnitedHealthGroup Company.
  • AmGrad Care insurance plan is administered by PGH Global.

  • Eligibility

    All international students, scholars or other persons with a current passport who

    • are engaged in educational activities and
    • are temporarily located outside his/her home country as a non resident alien and
    • have not obtained permanent residency status in the U.S.

    are eligible to enroll for this plan. Those enrolled in an English language or similar program or an Optional Practical Training Program or with an F or J visa are also eligible to enroll for this plan. The named insured must actively attend classes for at least the first 31 days after the date for which coverage is purchased with the exception of those with a J visa or those engaged in an OPT program. Eligible students who do enroll may also insure their dependents. Eligible dependents are the spouse and children under 26 years of age. Dependent eligibility expires concurrently with that of the insured student.

    Coverage becomes effective on the first day of the period for which premium is paid or the date the enrollment form and full premium are received by the company whichever is later.

    Coverage terminates at the end of the period through which the premium is paid

  • Benefits

    AmGrad Care Insurance offers a broad range of benefits including:

    • Hospital Room and Board: Average semi private room
    • Intensive Care: Unlimited for AmGrad Plus and Preferred insurance; Upto policy maximum of $500,000 for AmGrad Basic insurance.
    • Maternity: Covered as any other illness.
    • Emergency Room for illness: URC
    • Emergency Room for sickness: URC. Additional $100 applies if the visit does not lead to hospitalization.
    • Repatriation: Unlimited
    • Pre existing conditions: Covered up to medical maximum like any injury illness for AmGrad Plus and Preferred plans. Covered up to $1,000 in the first 6 months and up to medical maximum like any injury illness after the 6 month waiting period for AmGrad Basic.
    • Accidental Death: $5,000 for the student
