Study USA insurance provides the perfect solution for the international student in the U.S. who hesitates to purchase international student health insurance from a non-university source. The Study USA Healthcare plan meets the health insurance requirements of most universities, and offers coverage at a low cost.
The plan offers coverage for international students studying in the U.S., as well as for U.S. students studying abroad. While some benefit limits vary, most coverage remains the same for both plans. There are two plans that the students can choose from. The plan offers a maximum medical expense limit of $250,000(Plan A) and $300,000 (Plan B) per incident. Other coverage includes emergency medical evacuation, coverage for mental or nervous disorders and substance abuse, accidental death and dismemberment, and repatriation of remains.
Medical benefits include hospitalization, consultation for a sudden illness or injury, surgery, emergency services such as ambulance services, prescription medication, diagnostic tests and exams, and blood transfusions. Treatment of injury to sound natural teeth, and therapeutic termination of pregnancy are also covered by the Study USA plan.
Some of the exclusions of the plan are pre-existing conditions, most regular eye and dental care, and elective treatment. Students must also be careful when participating in sports, as the plan does not cover injuries sustained when indulging in professional or intercollegiate sporting events.
