Study USA Health Insurance provides affordable student medical insurance to foreign students studying in the US and to US registered students studying abroad. This flexible, comprehensive plan is tailored to the specific needs of students and their dependents. Study USA Preferred offers additional coverage for those who require it – no per day limits for hospital room, ICU, outpatient surgery and newborn baby nursery.

Study USA Insurance meets the health insurance requirements for international students at many universities. Upon purchase we can complete the insurance waiver form of US universities and send it to the International Students’ Office.

  • Study USA Health Insurance provides a Policy Maximum of up to $250,000.
  • $50 (In network or outside the US) or $150 (outside the network) per incident/illness, Deductible shall not exceed $250 per covered person per program year; the deductible is waived off if medical service is first received from the Student Health Center.
  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    For the Certificate Period, the plan pays 80% of Eligible Expenses after the Deductible up to $25,000, then 100% up to the Overall Maximum Limit.
  • In USA
    For the Certificate Period, the plan pays 70% of Eligible Expenses after the Deductible.
  • Coverage during initial purchase is available for periods from 1 month up to 10 months of coverage for the inbound students while the outbound student or international travelers will be limited to 364 day.
  • The plan may be renewed annually for up to 48 continuous months.
  • Study USA Health Care Insurance is underwritten by The Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.
  • Study USA HealthCare Insurance is administered by AIG Life Insurance Company.

  • Eligibility

    Foreign students studying in the US under age 66, and their dependents, with a valid visa and are registered and engaged in academic activities at a US school, college, or university. US registered students studying outside the US under age 66, who are registered with a US school, college, or university and engaged in academic activities abroad (excluding home country). Spouse and/or children (under age 18) of enrolled students may apply for insurance with the student, or within 31 days of birth, legal adoption, marriage, or arrival in the country of study.

    Coverage becomes effective at 12:01 am Standard time on the latest of:

    • The Master Policy Effective Date;
    • The Date indicated on the Enrollment Form; or,
    • The date the completed Enrollment Form and premium are received by the Program Administrator.

    Coverage will end at 11:59 pm Standard Time on the earliest of:

    • The last day for which premium was paid;
    • the date you cease to be eligible for this insurance; or,
    • The date the Master Policy terminates.
