Global Medical Insurance is a long term health insurance plan that can provide a full range of benefits including coverage for preventive care, maternity/pregnancy, major surgeries. One can renew the plan as long as one remains eligible for the plan.

The plan comes in four flavors, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum. Global Medical Insurance Silver is a scheduled benefits program offering fixed amounts of coverage for each type of medical expensive; whereas the Global Medical Insurance Gold and Global Medical Insurance Platinum are comprehensive major medical insurance plans. The platinum plan offers up to $8 Million (also exclusive coverage for dental and vision) in coverage while bronze plan offers up to $1 Million and the gold and silver plans offer up to $5 Million.

  • Global Medical Insurance Bronze provides a Policy Lifetime Maximum of US$1,000,000 with scheduled benefits (or with sub-limits);
  • Global Medical Insurance Silver provides a Policy Lifetime Maximum of US$5,000,000 with scheduled benefits (or with sub-limits);
  • Global Medical Insurance Gold provides a Policy Lifetime Maximum of US$5,000,000 in comprehensive benefits;
  • Global Medical Insurance Platinum provides a Policy Lifetime Maximum of US$8,000,000 in comprehensive benefits;
  • Global Medical Bronze and Silver: Ranges from $ 250 to $ 10,000 per period of coverage. 50% reduction within PPO.
  • Global Medical Gold: Ranges from $ 250 to $ 25,000 per period of coverage. 50% reduction within PPO.
  • Global Medical Platinum: Ranges from $100 to $25,000 per period of coverage. 50% reduction within PPO.
  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    Global Medical Bronze and Silver: Plan pays 100% of the covered amount as per the schedule of benefits after deductible. Global Medical Gold and Platinum: Plan pays 100%.
  • In USA and Canada:
    Global Medical Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum: Outside the network the plan pays 80% of the next $5000 of eligible expenses after the deductible then 100% of the covered as per the Schedule of benefits; In network plan pays 100% of the covered amounts as per the Schedule of Benefits.
  • Lifetime medical coverage is available if you are enrolled in the Global Basic Insurance plan by your 65th birthday and maintain continuous coverage to age 75.
  • Global medical insurance is annually renewable and coverage is continuous when renewed.
  • Global medical insurance is underwritten by SiriusPoint Ltd.
  • Claims for Global Medical Insurance plan is administered by International Medical Group Inc. in Indianapolis, IN, USA.

  • Eligibility
    • Global Medical Insurance is available to individuals and families of all nationalities.U.S. Citizens must reside abroad or plan to leave the U.S. on their effective date and plan to reside abroad for at least six of the next 12 months. Non-U.S. citizens may reside anywhere, including their country of citizenship, although certain eligibility restrictions may apply to non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States. Persons between the ages of 14 days and 74 years old may apply for coverage. Persons older than 74 years of age are not eligible for fresh coverage (unless they have been continuously covered under the plan till age 74).
    • Coverage becomes effective as of the start date of coverage.
    • Coverage will end on midnight on the expiry date in the policy.

  • Remarks
    • PPO Network: You may seek treatment under Global Medical Insurance with the hospital or doctor of your choice. If you choose to use a Provider (doctor or hospital) within the plan’s US Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), the deductible will be reduced by 50% and the co-insurance will be waived (i.e. the plan can cover 100% of the eligible expenses after the deductible).
    • Renewal: Prior to the end of each period of coverage (12 months) you will receive a renewal form. You must continue to meet the eligibility requirements for renewing coverage.
    • Cancellation: There is a 15 day period to review the fulfillment kit contents. If, during that 15 day period, you find that you are not happy with the plan for any reason, you may submit a written request for cancellation and full refund of your premium.
