The Global Citizen health plan is designed to support the international lifestyles of those who travel to or from the United States for extended periods of time for business, leisure and study. It is a comprehensive plan that offers coverage all over the world including your home country. There are no limits on time spent in and out of the US. Preventive care is available without a waiting period.

  • All Global Citizen plans have an unlimited lifetime maximum and a $250,000 maximum benefit for emergency medical evacuation.
  • Global Citizen and Global Citizen EXP plans offer a range of deductible options $0, $500, $1,000 or $5000. Deductible is waived for office visits to HTH participating providers outside the US and preferred providers within the US.
  • Outside the U.S. and Canada:
    For the Certificate Period, Underwriters will pay 100% of Eligible Expenses after the Deductible up to the Overall Maximum Limit.
  • In USA:
    For the Certificate Period, Underwriters will pay 80% of Eligible Expenses up to the out of pocket maximum limit and then up to 100% after the Deductible.
  • There is the option to purchase either the Global Citizen Health Plan or the Global Citizen EXP Health Plan (Coverage excludes the US)
  • Global Citizen is annually renewable and coverage is continuous when renewed.
  • All Global Citizen health plans are underwritten by BCS Insurance Company.
  • All Global Citizen health plans are administered by HTH Worldwide.

  • Eligibility

    All U.S. citizens living abroad who are 74 or younger at the time of application are eligible to apply for coverage.

    All legal residents of the U.S.(citizens and foreign nationals) who are age 74 or younger at the time of application are eligible if they live in a state listed below:

    Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

    Your effective date of insurance will be on the 1st or 15th day of the month following underwriting approval.

    Your coverage ends on the earlier of:

    • The last day of the month after the date the Insured Person is no longer eligible;
    • The end of the last period for which premium has been paid;
    • The date the Policy terminates;
    • The date the Lifetime Maximum Benefit of the Plan has been exhausted;
    • The date of fraud or misrepresentation of a material fact by the Insured Person, except as indicated in the Time Limit on Certain Defenses provision.

    The Global Citizen health plan offers a broad range of benefits including:

    • One Routine Physical Per Year
    • Surgery, anesthesia & radiation therapy
    • Organ/Tissue Transplant
    • Accidental Dental
    • Acupuncture and Chiropractic Services
    • Maternity benefits after 12 months of continuous coverage (at the time of renewal you can opt for maternity coverage if you are not pregnant at the time)
  • Remarks
    • PPO Network: Outside the US the plan does not follow a network. You can go to any hospital or doctor. Within the US members have access to a contracted nationwide Aetna network of over 700,000 preferred providers.
    • Renewal: Global Citizen is renewable up to age 74. Policies are renewed at prevailing rates based on age and residence. Your personal health history will not determine the renewal rate.
    • Cancellation: Additional cancellation surcharges will apply if cancelled prior to the annual renewal.
